ZHIRU ZHANG

Zhiru Zhang is an Associate Professor of ECE at Cornell University. His current research investigates new algorithms, methodologies, and design automation tools for heterogeneous computing systems. He is an IEEE Fellow. Other major recognition of his work includes a DARPA Young Faculty Award, an NSF CAREER Award, an IEEE CEDA Ernest S. Kuh Early Career Award, the ACM/SIGDA TCFPGA Hall of Fame, a Ross Freeman Award for Technical Innovation from Xilinx, faculty awards from Facebook and Google, and multiple best paper awards. He co-founded AutoESL Design Technologies (acquired by Xilinx) and developed AutoPilot, which became Vivado HLS, the most widely deployed FPGA HLS tool to date. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA.
